Working in cooperation with the public sector provides valuable resources and supports the missions and values of many communities and organizations, whether for-profit or non-profit. NAAAP is fortunate to have a long standing, strong relationship with many government organizations. Many of NAAAP’s past and present leaders, including National board members, come from many government positions nationwide. NAAAP values working with public agencies and officials “to get things done” as the cooperation with government, business, and private sectors has and will always be prevalent in professional and social collaboration.
The inaugural Federal Summit takes place on Friday, August 20th from 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. EDT/9 a.m. – 1 p.m. PDT. The Summit is geared towards those individuals interested in learning about federal career paths or how to advance your career within the federal system, or transition from private to public sector jobs. Participants can expect to hear from Senior Executive Service (SES) as well as Federal API Resource leaders from non-profit organizations including the Asian American Government Executives Network (AAGEN) and The Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC), two organizations committed to supporting and developing API leaders within the government sector.
Stan Fuji, Federal Summit Director, describes how the first Federal Summit is set up for the attendees.
“The concept is to have interlocking connections between each session, thus creating a synergy of knowledge. Starting off with networking, leading into mapping your career, alternative information about political appointments, and finally wrapping up with successful leadership styles.”
NAAAP is excited to feature two distinguished keynotes to begin the day: Kiran Ahuja, Director of U.S. Office of Personnel Management; and Grace Meng, U.S. Congressperson of New York. Other notable speakers include: Vivian Chen, Board Chair of AAGEN; Eric Won, The Leadership Praxis; and Sam Mok, Condor International. Whether you just want to learn about or need guidance moving into the public sector job force or you just want great networking opportunities with these amazing speakers and panelists, join us on August 20th!
