Ezra Baeli-Wang, Chief Marketing Officer
Ezra assumed the CMO role in September 2019 after volunteering as a NAAAP communication strategist for two years and NAAAP100 & Inspire Awards Director for a year.
Ezra Baeli-Wang is a speechwriter and organizer working in politics, AAPI visibility and opportunity, and LGBTQ+ activism in athletics. His commitment and approach to his work stems from his experience as a poet, Division I student-athlete, and as the mixed-race child of a queer parent and a first-generation immigrant parent.
He is a speaker at colleges, conferences, and community organizations nationwide, and led the Atlantic Coast Conference student-athlete community’s successful grassroots campaign to repeal North Carolina’s House Bill 2. Ezra also organized past and present University of North Carolina’s student-athletes, including professional and Olympic athletes, in the successful campaign to remove a confederate monument on UNC’s campus.
Currently, Ezra serves as the communications strategist for The Inclusion Playbook, a sports impact consultancy focused on LGBTQ equality and representation in athletics. He is also a speechwriting intern at West Wing Writers, the premier speechwriting firm in D.C., led by former speechwriters to United States presidents, vice presidents, governors, and cabinet secretaries.
Ezra is the recipient of the Ruth Stone Poetry Prize, the Athlete Ally Action Award, and was named one of the top 10 most influential people in the North Carolina Triangle’s athletic community. His poetry has appeared in December Magazine and Hunger Mountain among other literary journals and has been nominated for the Best New Poetry Award and a Pushcart Prize. His speeches have been delivered everywhere from galas and graduation ceremonies to grassroots activism workshops and diversity and inclusion summits.
